Glisten Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains the data we – the developers of Glisten – collect in the app, and how it is stored and used.


The data in Glisten app, such as the downloaded podcast episodes, are only available on your devices and in iCloud. We have no access to this data.


Glisten data is stored in iCloud. Apple encrypts the data stored in iCloud, but the Glisten data is not end-to-end encrypted.


Glisten app does not collect any personal data other than by explicit request, and only for the purpose of providing a service. For example, you may be asked to provide an email address when requesting support, submitting a crash report, or when joining a newsletter. This information is only used for the purpose for which the request was made, and will be removed upon request.


When you purchase a subscription to Glisten, your details are provided to Apple to fulfill payment and maintain the subscription, but we do not receive this information from Apple.


Glisten does collect anonymous data from your device for the purpose of improving the product. This data may include crash reports and anonymous interaction data to assess how the app is being used. The collection of this anonymous data makes use of services provided by Google and Apple. Examples of such anonymous data include usage patterns, podcasts you have followed, and navigation through the app.


Where Glisten needs access to device services, like Speech-to-Text conversion, you will be prompted to lend permission. You have complete control over access to these device services via Apple’s Settings app.


When you use a service like Apple’s Speech-to-Text conversion, audio content may be uploaded to Apple solely for the purpose of extracting the text. The audio in question is not stored or shared with other parties, and is not available to us, the Glisten developers.


Glisten does not make use of user accounts or passwords. It does use services provided by Apple, such as iCloud, which require an account. Glisten does not have access to any of your credentials for such services.


Glisten may make use of 3rd party services for Artificial Intelligence (AI), like OpenAI, to improve the quality of extracted text. Any data uploaded to the service for this purpose is anonymous, and not stored for longer than needed to make use of the service.


Glisten does not access your contacts, or share information about your contacts with others.The developers of Glisten do not make use of Cookies on the web site.


Glisten makes no use of in-app advertising, and does not collect any data for this purpose.
